| Topic: Sandblasted sign on a rooftop | | Question | | I have an installation request for a sandblasted sign on a rooftop. Is this a wise idea? The sign is to be 8'x3' blasted on both sides. I plan to use 2" 15 lb. density due to the fact that is all my local supplier stocks. Is there any special things I should do for this project. | | Answer | | 2” 15lb. would be just fine for this project, however you may want to consider buying two pieces of 1” material and laminating them together. This way you can engineer your mounting structure and sandwich it between the two faces for added structural support. This sign will be subject to quite a bit of wind-load and an internal frame will be the best way to insure its longevity. | Tech Support |
