| Topic: A durable hard epoxy finish. | | Question | | I'm makin some polyuretane foam Greco/Roman columns for a school theatrical production. I'd like to finish them in some type of durable hard expoxy finish. Something similar to what one might find in Disney or other theme parks. What can you recommend? Oh, I'm donating the work and materials so cost is a factor, please suggest alternatives if available. | | Answer | I am afraid “durable” and “epoxy finish” don’t go in the same sentence as “cost factor”. The only epoxy finishes I am aware of are straight from the automotive industry and run anywhere from $95.00 to $120.00 a gallon. There is a primer called Feather Fill, made by Evercoat, it is a polyester primer. It sprays on and is like liquid Bondo, it will encase you piece in plastic.
